One crew for the inside and the outside

Interior and exterior work call for different preparation, products and timing. Inside, it's about clean lines, smooth walls and keeping your space livable while we work. Outside, it's about standing up to North Bay sun, coastal fog and winter rain.

Since 1979, Coy Brown Painting has handled both for homeowners and businesses across Santa Rosa, Sonoma, Marin and Napa counties. We repair what needs repairing, prime where it's needed and finish with care, so the paint looks good and lasts.

How our interior and exterior painting works

Every project starts with a free, no-obligation estimate and ends with a clean site and a final walk through.

  1. Free estimate

We visit, look at the surfaces and talk through colors, scope and timing, then give you a clear estimate.

  2. Prep and protect

We cover floors, furniture and landscaping, then wash, scrape, sand, patch and caulk so the paint has a sound base.

  3. Prime and paint

Bare or repaired areas get primer, then walls, trim and siding get even, consistent coats.

  4. Clean up and walk through

We remove masking, clean the site and walk the project with you before we call it done.

Common questions

Should I paint the interior or exterior first?

It depends on your priorities and the season. Exterior work is best scheduled in dry weather, while interior painting can happen year round. We can plan both so the work fits your schedule.

Do you help with choosing colors?

Yes. Color matching is part of our service, and we're happy to talk through options for your home or building during the estimate.

Do you fix damaged walls or siding before painting?

Yes. Patching, caulking and minor repairs are part of our prep, because paint only lasts as long as the surface underneath it. See our minor home repairs for more.

How long will my project take?

It depends on the size of the property and the amount of prep. We'll give you a timeline along with your free estimate.

How often does a home need exterior painting?

It depends on sun exposure, the siding material and the quality of the last paint job. Peeling, fading or chalky paint and exposed wood are signs it's time. We'll tell you honestly during your free estimate whether your exterior painting can wait.
